Antoana Oreski is an illustrator from the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, where she lives with her husband and their two girls. She graduated from the School of Applied Art & Design in Textiles, but her passion from an early age was illustrating cute and whimsical characters. Growing up on the coast, she was fascinated by nature, hands always full of bugs, lizards or sea creatures while playing on the beach; she was fearless! She thinks that exploring nature in her youth was crucial for developing her imagination. The other thing she always loved was listening to her mother's bedtime stories; they always felt so real, as if she transcended into that imaginary world. A lot of that influence can be seen in her work today through her illustrative style. She loves playing with textures and patterns and combining hand drawn icons with digital. She is very drawn to blue hues with bright and vibrant colors. She really loves what she does and she honestly hopes it's what she'll be doing it when she's old and wrinkled, as she never sees herself doing anything else!
